Kartik Aaryan’s recent release Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri may have underperformed at the box office, but the actor isn’t slowing down. The Bollywood star is reportedly in advanced discussions with Kill director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat for an ambitious mythology-based action-adventure film.
Kartik Aaryan Eyes Mythological Action-Adventure
Aaryan has been offered a unique project by Bhat that blends Indian mythology with high-octane action. A source close to the development revealed, “Kartik Aaryan has been offered a one-of-a-kind film by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat. It is an action-adventure film rooted in Indian mythology.”
The source added that Aaryan is particularly excited about the commercial appeal and mass-market potential of the subject. “Kartik has been excited about this film as the subject is commercial, novel, and has the potential to resonate with not just classes but also the masses. Moreover, Kartik enjoyed Nikhil’s Kill and feels that he is a director to watch out for.”
Advanced Talks with Major Studio
The collaboration appears to be moving forward rapidly, with both parties in advanced stages of discussion. “If all goes well and if everything falls in place, Kartik will sign on the dotted line very soon,” the source confirmed.
Additionally, Aaryan and Bhat are in talks with a major studio to produce and finance the project. “Both the actor and filmmaker are also having talks with a major studio to come on board to produce and finance the project. Even on this front, talks have reached advanced stages,” the insider revealed.
Kartik Aaryan’s Upcoming 2026 Slate
While this mythology project takes shape, Aaryan has two confirmed releases lined up for 2026. First up is Naagzilla, a fantasy comedy where he plays a shape-shifting naag. The film features Ravi Kishan as the antagonist and is directed by Fukrey filmmaker Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films, Naagzilla reportedly stars Sreeleela as the female lead.
Aaryan will also reunite with Sreeleela for an untitled musical drama directed by Anurag Basu. Backed by T-Series, this project is expected to hit theaters in the second half of 2026.
Despite the lukewarm response to his latest release, Kartik Aaryan’s packed lineup demonstrates his continued appeal to filmmakers across genres, from mythological action to fantasy comedies and musical dramas.
