Kathavachak Devkinandan Thakur expressed deep concern over the theft of donations from the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, stating that it has deeply saddened millions of Hindus and Sanatan followers. He emphasized the need for a Sanatan Board to manage temple affairs and religious matters, urging patience for the investigation to uncover the truth.
Thakur supported the statement by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) chief Ajay Kumar, agreeing that the VHP’s role concluded after ensuring the temple’s construction. He stressed the importance of segregating religious and administrative responsibilities, advocating for religious leaders to oversee religious matters while governance remains with the government.
Highlighting the significance of utilizing donations for public welfare, Thakur suggested that funds donated in Lord Ram’s name should benefit society at large, not individuals associated with trusts. He proposed the establishment of a Sanatan Board as a preventive measure against future controversies, citing the need to protect religious sanctity.
Appealing to the Central government, Thakur urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to safeguard religion and future generations. He called for the formation of a Sanatan Board with powers akin to the Waqf Board, suggesting the inclusion of all temples under its purview for the preservation of Sanatan Dharma.
