Over 2,500 participants in Kenya gathered at the Oshwal Centre Grounds to mark the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) under the theme ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing.’ The event, graced by the Under Secretary General and Director General of the United Nations Office at Nairobi, attracted various dignitaries and yoga enthusiasts from different sectors.
The celebrations in Kenya showcased Rhythmic Yoga and Stick Yoga performances, followed by a Common Yoga Protocol session highlighting the physical and mental benefits of yoga. Ayurveda stalls at the venue provided insights into India’s traditional healthcare system, emphasizing holistic well-being.
In Tanzania, more than 2,500 yoga enthusiasts convened in Dar es Salaam for the 12th IDY, attended by Deputy Minister of Minerals Steven Kiruswa and other dignitaries. Meanwhile, in Ethiopia, the 12th International Day of Yoga, organized by the Embassy of India in Addis Ababa, saw over 300 participants celebrating the event successfully.
