Kerala BJP President, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, accused the “Cockroach Janata Party” (CJP) of being part of a cross-border influence operation to destabilize India. Chandrasekhar called for a National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into the satirical social media campaign. He highlighted the use of Artificial Intelligence, bots, and social media to shape narratives and influence public opinion.
The emergence of the CJP was described as a coordinated influence campaign targeting India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. Chandrasekhar emphasized that influence operations using social media and AI could be dangerous tools for destabilization. He also mentioned that India’s economic growth under PM Modi might face resistance internationally.
Chandrasekhar praised PM Modi’s leadership during global crises, stating that despite challenges like the pandemic and geopolitical tensions, India remained resilient. He emphasized that no campaign or vested interest could weaken the country’s resolve to progress. The CJP, a satirical campaign, gained popularity on social media following controversy over remarks attributed to Chief Justice of India Surya Kant.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP, Manan Kumar Mishra, supported the call for an NIA investigation and clarified that the Chief Justice’s remarks were aimed at individuals with fake legal degrees. Mishra, Chairman of the Bar Council of India, highlighted the issue of fake legal practitioners operating in court complexes. He stressed that the Chief Justice’s comments were taken out of context and targeted those practicing law with fake degrees.
