The National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended K.P. Muhammadali, the PFI Palakkad district president, at the IGI Airport in New Delhi upon his return from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he had been evading authorities for four years. Muhammadali, a significant figure in the Sreenivasan murder case, is among the 65 accused charged under relevant sections of the IPC and UA (P) Act. His arrest brings the total number of apprehended suspects in the case to 67.

Hailing from Palakkad district in Kerala, Muhammadali played a crucial role in the murder conspiracy and provided shelter to the perpetrators involved in the brutal killing of Sreenivasan on April 16, 2022. NIA had offered a reward of Rs 3 lakh for information leading to his capture, and an Interpol Red Notice was issued against him. The murder was carried out as part of PFI’s agenda to instigate terror and establish Islamic Rule in India by 2047.

The investigation by NIA, initiated in September 2022, uncovered a plot by the accused to fuel communal discord through violent extremism and Jihad in the country. It was revealed that PFI operated through various units, using its facilities to provide arms training under the guise of Physical Education and Yoga Training. The organization’s different wings were assigned specific tasks, such as gathering intelligence on potential targets and executing terror activities.
