Key players from Pakistan and England have shown significant improvement in the ICC Women’s T20I and ODI Player Rankings ahead of the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Pakistan’s captain, Fatima Sana, made a notable advancement after leading her team to a 3-0 victory against Zimbabwe Women in the T20I series. She was named Player of the Match for her outstanding unbeaten 62 runs in the final game, propelling her to 23rd place in the ICC Women’s T20I batting rankings with a career-high rating of 543.
Fatima also excelled in bowling, securing five wickets during the series, which elevated her to 29th place in the T20I bowling rankings. Another Pakistani spinner, Nashra Sandhu, moved up in the T20I bowling rankings due to her five-wicket haul, now sharing the seventh spot with teammate Sadia Iqbal, who maintained her top position after claiming six wickets. Tuba Hassan, another Pakistani spinner, climbed an impressive 16 places to 44th in the rankings following her strong performances.
The T20I batting rankings witnessed significant progress for Pakistan’s Ayesha Zafar and Eyman Fatima, with Ayesha now ranked joint 52nd and Eyman at 89th position after their contributions against Zimbabwe. In the ODI rankings, England’s seamer, Lauren Bell, stood out with five wickets in the recent series against New Zealand women. Bell rose three places in the ODI bowling rankings to 18th and also advanced to 22nd place in the all-rounder category. New Zealand’s Brooke Halliday moved up to 14th in the ODI batting ranks, while Isabella Gaze climbed to 51st. England’s Charlie Dean also improved, moving up four places to 58th in the ODI bowling rankings.
