Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Ajinkya Rahane, with coaches and mentors, expressed optimism and belief in the team’s abilities for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Rahane praised the strong batting lineup, emphasizing the players’ good form and excitement for the season. He highlighted the importance of positivity and adaptability in facing challenges as a player and captain.

Rahane stressed the team’s focus on starting well and maintaining momentum throughout the tournament. He mentioned the addition of all-rounders like Cameron Green, enhancing squad flexibility. The coaching staff, including Shane Watson, acknowledged the challenge of managing a talented batting lineup and emphasized the need for players to capitalize on opportunities.

With the potential absence of key player Andre Russell, the team sees a chance for other players to step up and make significant contributions. The coaching staff highlighted the depth in the squad and the importance of defining player roles for optimal performance. They expressed confidence in the team’s ability to overcome challenges and perform well in the tournament.

KKR is gearing up to face the Mumbai Indians in their opening match on March 29 at the Wankhede Stadium. Following this, they will play home fixtures at the Eden Gardens against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings, and Lucknow Super Giants.
