Konkona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Rannta will star in the upcoming psychological thriller “Accused,” directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, set to debut on Netflix on 27 February. The film delves into complex human behavior and moral conflicts, focusing on women in a narrative rarely explored, where power dynamics and beliefs constantly evolve. Produced by Dharma Productions, the story follows a respected London doctor whose life unravels when she faces allegations of sexual misconduct.

“Accused” challenges viewers to confront discomfort and uncertainty as it portrays a woman grappling with accusations, shedding light on the impact of public opinion and strained relationships. The film, characterized by nuanced storytelling, aims to provoke introspection rather than hasty judgment. With Konkona and Pratibha’s compelling performances, the narrative promises a thought-provoking experience.

Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, Director of Original Films at Netflix India, praised “Accused” for its exploration of truth, belief, and the personal aftermath of an accusation. Anubhuti Kashyap’s direction adds depth to the narrative, emphasizing the film’s focus on character-driven storytelling. The movie, known for its emotional resonance, will be available exclusively on Netflix starting February 27.

Konkona Sen Sharma, known for her diverse roles in Indian cinema, made her mark with notable performances in various languages, including Bengali and English. Pratibha, on the other hand, transitioned from television to films, showcasing her talent in projects like the comedy-drama “Laapataa Ladies.” Both actors bring their expertise to “Accused,” promising a captivating and layered viewing experience.
