Veteran playback singer Kumar Sanu expressed his gratitude for the enduring love received by the iconic 1990 song “Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaye” from the movie “Jurm.” Sharing a video of himself singing the song in the 90s and then in 2026, Sanu highlighted how the melody has resonated across generations. He emphasized that the song’s message of companionship and support still strikes a chord with listeners, maintaining its relevance over the years.
Sanu, along with Sadhana Sargam, lent their voices to “Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaye,” a song featured on Vinod Khanna and Meenakshi Sheshadri in the film “Jurm,” directed by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Mukesh Bhatt. Inspired by the English track “500 Miles,” popular during the 1960s folk revival in the United States and Europe, the song’s simple yet powerful lyrics depict a traveler’s struggles far from home.
Known for his melodious voice and extensive repertoire in various languages, including Hindi, Bengali, and more, Sanu rose to fame with the soundtrack of “Aashiqui” in 1990. His remarkable talent led him to set a Guinness World Record in 1993 by recording 28 songs in a single day. In recognition of his significant contributions to Indian music, Sanu was honored with the Padma Shri award in 2009.
