Kuwait’s armed forces are currently engaging hostile aerial targets within the country’s airspace. This action follows Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launching missile and drone strikes on US military bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait in retaliation to US airstrikes on southern Iran. The Kuwait Army has advised citizens to follow security instructions issued by authorities to ensure safety.
Bahrain has also sounded sirens and instructed residents to move to the nearest secure location. The Ministry of Interior in Bahrain has urged people to remain calm amid the escalating situation. Meanwhile, the IRGC’s retaliatory strikes targeted US military facilities in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait in response to recent events in the region.
The IRGC’s actions included targeting key military installations in these countries. In Bahrain, the IRGC Aerospace Force struck helicopter maintenance facilities, an electronic warfare aircraft hangar, and the US military’s drone operations center at Sheikh Isa Air Base. Additionally, the IRGC destroyed fuel storage tanks and a Patriot air defense system at the US base in Kuwait’s Ali Al Salem, along with a radar system at Ahmad Al Jaber Air Base.
The IRGC emphasized its commitment to defending Iranian territory, particularly the vital Strait of Hormuz, which plays a crucial role in global oil and commercial shipping. Disruptions in this strategic waterway could have significant impacts on international trade and energy markets, highlighting the importance of maintaining stability in the region.
