The ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme by the Centre is making a significant impact on women in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Women from marginalized backgrounds are experiencing entrepreneurship, economic independence, and increased confidence through this initiative. Beneficiaries, especially from economically weaker and Dalit communities, are sharing stories of transformation.

Women involved in self-help groups in Azamgarh attribute their financial self-reliance to the BJP-led government’s efforts. The district administration emphasizes the effective implementation of welfare schemes at the grassroots level. Azamgarh District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar highlights the government’s commitment to addressing public grievances and ensuring law and order.

Under the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme, women beneficiaries in Azamgarh are witnessing life-changing opportunities. Sunita, President of the Chandni Self-Help Group, utilized the scheme to start a beauty parlour and stitching center, significantly increasing her annual income. Similarly, Shanti Singh Chauhan and Sharda Devi from other self-help groups express gratitude for the scheme’s impact on their lives.

The initiative aims to elevate women’s economic status, with over one crore Self-Help Group women already achieving the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ status. The government now targets enabling three crore women to become financially independent through this scheme.
