Late Satish Kaushik, known for his acting and directing, took on the director’s role for “Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja,” a film starring Anil Kapoor and Sridevi. Despite its high budget, the movie was a commercial failure. On a chat show, Satish shared a funny anecdote about avoiding checking the film’s box office performance with producer Boney Kapoor.
During the show, Boney Kapoor mentioned that Satish Kaushik was so distressed about the film’s reception that he contemplated extreme actions. Satish humorously recounted his near decision to jump off a building but reconsidered when he realized it might be misinterpreted as a craving for food. “Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja,” released in 1993, was a major disappointment at the box office.
The film, written by Javed Akhtar and produced by Boney Kapoor, featured actors like Anupam Kher, Johnny Lever, and Jackie Shroff. Despite the star-studded cast, the movie failed to resonate with audiences. Satish Kaushik, who tragically passed away in 2023 from a heart attack, had a close bond with Anil Kapoor, who mourned his friend’s loss deeply.
