A significant legal development has occurred in the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddique, as his daughter, Shahzeen Ziauddin Siddique, has filed an application before a special court. In her plea, she expressed concerns about the investigation conducted by the Mumbai Crime Branch and requested the agency to secure the custody of wanted accused Anmol Bishnoi for interrogation and trial.
Shahzeen urged the court to direct the investigating agency to bring Anmol Bishnoi before the court to stand trial with the other accused. She claimed that despite being identified as the prime accused in the chargesheet, the Mumbai Crime Branch had not made significant efforts to obtain his custody.
The chargesheet filed by the Mumbai Crime Branch identifies Anmol Bishnoi as the principal accused in the murder and a key member of the Bishnoi gang. However, the agency allegedly failed to take effective steps to secure his presence in India or interrogate him regarding the case. Shahzeen alleged that the investigation did not uncover the actual motive behind the murder or the larger conspiracy.
