Liverpool has finalized an agreement for the transfer of Jeremy Jacquet from Stade Rennais, with the young defender expected to join the club for the 2026-27 season, pending work permit and international clearance. The deal involves a fixed fee of 55 million pounds along with potential performance-related add-ons totaling 5 million pounds.
According to Liverpool’s statement, the 20-year-old Jacquet will complete the current season in Ligue 1 before moving to Anfield in the summer on a long-term contract. Despite Chelsea’s interest during the January transfer window, Liverpool managed to secure the player for a total of 60 million pounds.
Jacquet, who has represented France U21s five times, has appeared in 18 matches for Rennes in the French top flight this season. Since his debut in January 2024, the young centre-back has featured in a total of 31 games for Rennes. He also gained experience in Ligue 1 while on loan at Clermont Foot and played a crucial role in France’s U19 European Championship run in 2024.
Harvey Davies, who returned from a loan spell at Crawley Town, has signed a new contract with Liverpool. The goalkeeper, after a successful stint at Crawley, has rejoined Liverpool after playing 19 matches across various competitions for Crawley in the first half of the season. Davies, who joined Liverpool at U9 level, has gradually progressed through the Academy ranks and has been part of the senior team’s matchday squad on 18 occasions.
