The Lok Sabha session on Thursday was adjourned until 2 p.m. due to continuous protests by Opposition members demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following the NEET paper leak issue. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju reiterated the government’s readiness for a discussion on the matter and urged the Opposition to engage in dialogue without setting preconditions.
Rijiju emphasized that the government had made efforts to engage with Opposition leaders and expressed willingness to address the NEET paper leak issue in both Houses of Parliament. He urged the Opposition to determine the timing for the discussion and accused them of avoiding dialogue by imposing conditions.
The Union Minister stressed the importance of objectively discussing all instances of question paper leaks, regardless of the state or examination involved, and urged political parties not to politicize the matter. Despite appeals for decorum, Opposition MPs persisted in demanding the Education Minister’s resignation, leading to the adjournment of the Lok Sabha session.
