The Lok Sabha faced disruption as the Opposition continued heavy sloganeering just two minutes after reconvening. Despite the Speaker’s calls for order, MPs persisted in demanding an immediate discussion on paper leaks and exam irregularities. The House was adjourned till noon when the ruckus did not subside, even though the government had agreed to address the paper leak issue.
Amid the chaos, Lok Sabha Speaker Birla urged MPs to engage in a discussion following the Question Hour within the House rules. Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda had earlier expressed the government’s willingness to engage with stakeholders on the paper leak matter. Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the establishment of fast-track courts to swiftly penalize those involved in paper leaks, emphasizing the government’s commitment to safeguarding students’ interests.
Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju called on all parties, particularly the Opposition, to meet with the Speaker to determine the timing and rules for discussing the NEET paper leak in Parliament efficiently. PM Modi reiterated the government’s dedication to ensuring the youth’s future by taking stringent action against those jeopardizing it, emphasizing that such actions are vital for the country’s youth’s welfare.
