Speaking at the “Empowered Legislators, Stronger Democracy” program on the Bihar Legislative Assembly’s foundation day, Birla highlighted the pivotal role of empowered legislators in bolstering democracy. He emphasized that the effectiveness of democratic institutions hinges on the capacity, competence, and integrity of elected representatives. Birla noted that legislators strengthen democracy by addressing public concerns, advocating for citizens, and actively participating in legislative procedures.
Birla emphasized the importance of legislators’ empowerment through understanding public needs, engaging in legislative processes, and contributing to policy development. He stressed that legislators well-versed in parliamentary procedures are better positioned to enhance transparency and accountability in governance. Additionally, Birla inaugurated the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) Digital House in the Bihar Legislature, citing it as a significant move towards transparency and efficiency.
