Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha highlighted the ongoing battle against drugs in Jammu and Kashmir during the culmination of the 100-day Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan. The campaign, aimed at combating drug abuse, witnessed significant achievements but emphasized the continued need for action. Sinha reiterated the commitment to eradicate drug cartels and narco-terror networks targeting the youth.

The Lt. Governor, addressing an event organized by the Department of Social Welfare, emphasized the importance of dismantling illicit trafficking ecosystems and enhancing public awareness. He stressed the significance of providing robust rehabilitation to aid affected individuals in reintegrating into society. Sinha acknowledged the challenges ahead but affirmed a resolute determination to eliminate narco-terrorism completely.

During the 100-day campaign, Lt. Governor Sinha engaged with communities across all 20 districts of the Union Territory through Padyatra. He shared encounters with concerned parents, expressing solidarity with their worries about their children’s future. Sinha noted the mix of despair and hope he witnessed, underscoring the unprecedented public support for the anti-drug campaign in Jammu and Kashmir.

The campaign’s initial phase saw significant enforcement actions, including the arrest of 2,581 drug traffickers and the seizure of narcotics, including heroin. Assets worth over Rs. 188.89 crore linked to narco-terror financing were also confiscated. The Lt. Governor emphasized the importance of holding offenders accountable, ensuring that no one is above the law. Additionally, he highlighted the successful rehabilitation efforts benefiting numerous young individuals.
