Lucknow is preparing for the opening of the Nau Sena Shaurya Vatika (Naval Gallantry Garden) on Saturday, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath set to jointly dedicate the facility. The inauguration event near Ekana Stadium aims to showcase India’s naval history and modern maritime capabilities.
Chief Minister Yogi expressed excitement about the grand opening of the ‘Naval Shaurya Vatika’ in Lucknow, emphasizing its significance as a symbol of the Navy’s courage and capabilities. Defence Minister Singh, also the Member of Parliament from Lucknow, will lead the inauguration ceremony in his constituency, scheduled between 11:30 A.M. and 1:00 P.M.
The Nau Sena Shaurya Vatika, developed as an open-air naval museum in collaboration with the Indian Navy and Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, seeks to educate visitors about India’s maritime heritage. With decommissioned naval assets, interpretive displays, and interactive exhibits, the facility aims to raise awareness about the Navy’s vital role in national security and maritime operations.
During the event, Defence Minister Singh will also review the Lucknow–Kanpur Expressway, expected to significantly reduce travel time between the two cities. The expressway, likely to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after June 15, symbolizes key infrastructure developments in Uttar Pradesh under the state and central governments.
