Luka Modric, the Croatian veteran, has signed a contract extension with AC Milan, confirming his continuation with the Serie A club for another year. Modric, who recently turned 41, had joined AC Milan last year after a long stint of 13 seasons with Real Madrid. The midfielder’s original contract had expired on June 30, and he contributed two goals in 37 appearances for Milan last season.
AC Milan officially announced the contract extension, expressing their delight in retaining Modric until June 30, 2027. Modric, a significant presence in the Rossoneri midfield, is recognized as one of the world’s finest and most iconic players, aiming to achieve new milestones with the team.
The 2018 Ballon d’Or winner will retain his No. 14 shirt for the upcoming season, continuing his illustrious career that began at Real Madrid in 2012. Modric, known for his exceptional vision, control, and elegance on the field, has been a key figure in Real Madrid’s success, winning numerous titles during his tenure. After leaving Real Madrid in 2025, Modric joined AC Milan and will now play under the guidance of Ruben Amorim, the former Manchester United head coach.
