Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed gratitude to alliance partners, party workers, and leaders of the Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) for their support despite not winning the 2026 Assembly elections. Stalin affirmed the coalition’s commitment to Tamil Nadu’s rights and welfare, vowing to uphold its ideological and political journey.
In a detailed statement, Stalin highlighted the alliance’s resilience through various electoral challenges since 2019, including Lok Sabha elections, Assembly polls, and local body elections. He praised the addition of new parties during the recent campaign, strengthening the alliance’s secular and democratic platform in the state.
Stalin specifically thanked key leaders such as K. Selvaperunthagai, Vaiko, Premalatha Vijayakanth, Thol. Thirumavalavan, M. Veerapandian, P. Shanmugam, K.M. Kader Mohideen, M.H. Jawahirullah, E.R. Eswaran, and others for their cooperation during the election period. He also acknowledged the support from non-political leaders and organizations who backed the alliance.
Expressing accountability as the alliance leader, Stalin took responsibility for decisions on seat-sharing, campaign coordination, and negotiations. Despite not achieving a complete victory, he noted the significant voter support received, reflecting the enduring trust of Tamil Nadu residents in the DMK-led front.
Stalin emphasized the unity and ideological strength of the coalition, with several partners committing to continue their association post-election.
