The session, marked by heated debates and Opposition protests, witnessed key announcements on development and governance. Congress MLA Babu Jandel’s Gandhian Satyagraha, including a headstand protest, added to the session’s drama.
During ‘Zero Hour,’ Congress members Sohan Balmiki and Pankaj Upadhyay raised concerns about political harassment, leading to a walk-out after the Speaker’s response. Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya announced strict measures against illegal colonies on the final day, promising statewide enforcement within three months.
The session, which began on February 16, faced disruptions over public health issues and fiscal management. Despite contentions, the House proceeded with the Motion of Thanks and the presentation of the state budget for 2026-27. The budget, with a record outlay of Rs 4.38 lakh crore, prioritized women-centric initiatives and infrastructure development.
Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar oversaw the adjournment, concluding the eventful session that highlighted various challenges and initiatives in Madhya Pradesh governance.
