Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted Malwa as the state’s granary, announcing a Rs 3,000 crore expenditure on compensating crop damage due to rain in the last two years. In Khachrod, Ujjain district, CM Yadav disclosed the disbursement of Rs 1,300 crore to 6.5 lakh farmers under the ‘Bhavantar’ scheme. Looking ahead to 2026, the Chief Minister outlined plans to enhance agricultural growth and farmers’ welfare through upcoming innovative schemes.
The government’s primary focus this year will revolve around farmers, with a particular emphasis on agro-based industries to provide new directions and opportunities for farmers and agri-entrepreneurs, as per CM Yadav. He emphasized the significance of the ‘Parvati–Kalisindh–Chambal’ national river-linking project in offering permanent irrigation solutions to the Malwa–Nimar and Chambal region. The state aims to increase its irrigation capacity to 10 million hectares over the next five years.
During the event, CM Yadav initiated 39 development projects worth Rs 78.61 crore and announced the establishment of a food processing park in Khachrod to aid farmers in processing the state’s abundant green peas. Additionally, he inaugurated the new Sandipani School building costing Rs 35.40 crore, highlighting its role in providing top-notch education and shaping a bright future for children. Efforts are underway to ensure inclusive development, reaching every individual in society.
