Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently transferred more than Rs 1,835 crore to over 1.25 crore women beneficiaries in Narsinghpur district under the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana. The amount was directly deposited into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts with a single click during a program attended by a large gathering of women. Chief Minister Yadav, speaking at the event, emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering women and creating new opportunities for them in various sectors.

Highlighting the importance of women’s empowerment, Chief Minister Yadav mentioned the increasing participation of women in fields like industry and agriculture due to government initiatives. Additionally, he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth more than Rs 296 crore in the district, including infrastructure works like roads and water supply. The Chief Minister also distributed benefits under different government welfare schemes and recognized students for their achievements in academics, sports, and cultural activities.

During the event, Chief Minister Yadav engaged in various activities, including planting saplings as part of an environmental initiative and performing ‘gau seva’ at Mungwani village. The Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, aimed at financially supporting eligible women between 21 and 60 years old, was launched on March 5, 2023, by former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The scheme provides monthly financial assistance directly to the bank accounts of eligible women to help improve their family’s financial situation.
