Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav pledged a well-organized Simhastha Kumbh Mela – 2028 for pilgrims visiting Ujjain. He emphasized that the event would be systematic and successful, ensuring a seamless experience for millions of devotees worldwide. Infrastructure projects worth Rs 129 crore were initiated to enhance road connectivity within Ujjain city during a ceremonial event.
Chief Minister Yadav also introduced ‘UtkarshUjjain.com,’ a portal by the Ujjain Municipal Corporation, and launched ‘Kaushal Setu,’ a skill development program for youth. The state government is actively working on developing major routes to Ujjain, including a six-lane road, as part of preparations for Simhastha-2028. A total of 74 infrastructure projects costing Rs 7,379.75 crore have been approved for the event.
The camping area for Simhastha-2028 will be developed through the Town Planning Scheme (TPS), with the state government greenlighting the Simhastha Mela Area Urban Development Scheme TPS 8, 9, 10, and 11, covering 2,378 hectares in March 2025.
