Wheat procurement at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) in Madhya Pradesh is set to start on March 16. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav instructed district collectors to ensure that identified farmers are verified, gunny bags are available at procurement centers, and payments are made promptly. He emphasized the need for proper training of staff engaged in procurement work and regular meetings of District Procurement Committees for issue resolution.
During a virtual meeting, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of providing farmers with updated information in a simple and accessible manner. He highlighted that collectors and officials who show performance and results will continue in their roles. The Chief Minister also directed the setup of video conferencing facilities in certain districts to enhance communication up to the Panchayat level for better monitoring of development works.
Wheat procurement will take place from March 16 to May 5 in some divisions and from March 23 to May 12 in others. Farmers have until March 7 to complete their registration for the procurement process. Additionally, the Chief Minister issued guidelines for the preparation of a ‘vision document’ at the Assembly constituency level and emphasized countering false information at the district level effectively.
