Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, emphasized India’s rapid progress across sectors, aiming to rise to the world’s third-largest economy in the next one to one-and-a-half years. He mentioned that India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, has sent its largest delegation ever to Davos this year, engaging in significant discussions with industrialists and business representatives. Yadav highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s growth opportunities in solar energy, IT, and tourism, attributing the state government’s initiatives to positive outcomes.
In his address, Yadav pointed out the state’s potential in agriculture, poultry, and trade expansion with other states, supported by a substantial land bank, power availability, and strategic central location for advantageous transportation. He noted a remarkable decline in Madhya Pradesh’s unemployment rate to about 1% due to sustained government efforts over the past two years, with initiatives focusing on youth employment and self-employment yielding visible results. Additionally, Yadav met with Maldives Minister Mohamed Saeed to explore collaboration opportunities in fisheries, IT, healthcare, and tourism sectors.
During discussions, Minister Saeed highlighted potential collaborations between Maldives and Madhya Pradesh, emphasizing previous forward-looking decisions by PM Modi and the Maldives President. Yadav expressed readiness for further partnerships with the Maldives, aligning with the shared vision for progress and cooperation.
