In a significant move for women’s empowerment in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will launch the 35th installment of the well-received ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’ in Ashta, Sehore district. This initiative involves transferring Rs 1,500 directly into the bank accounts of more than 1.25 crore women beneficiaries across the state through a single-click DBT (direct benefit transfer). The scheme, which has now increased the monthly assistance from Rs 1,250 to Rs 1,500, serves as an additional income source for women in the state.
The Ladli Behna Yojana aims to assist women in managing household expenses, fostering savings, and exploring self-employment opportunities. The state government plans to further empower women beneficiaries by connecting them with skill development and employment programs. Currently, over 1.25 crore women benefit from this scheme, promoting financial inclusion and enhancing decision-making abilities at the grassroots level.
The direct benefit transfer mechanism ensures transparency by cutting out middlemen, guaranteeing that every rupee reaches the intended recipient promptly. Chief Minister Yadav will also inaugurate various development projects worth over Rs 184 crore in the region, including the construction of educational institutions, infrastructure, and public facilities. This comprehensive approach underscores the government’s commitment to women’s welfare and balanced regional progress.
The Ladli Behna Yojana has been widely praised for its positive impact on women’s economic security in the state. The upcoming event in Ashta is anticipated to witness active participation from women beneficiaries and local residents, showcasing the scheme’s strong connection with the community. This 35th installment release reaffirms the government’s dedication to supporting and empowering the “Ladli Behnas” (beloved sisters).
