Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to transfer funds for the 37th instalment of the Ladli Behna Yojana to beneficiaries during a state-level event in Kesli town of Sagar district. An amount of Rs 1,835 crore will be directly transferred to eligible beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system as part of this women’s welfare scheme. Additionally, the Chief Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 53 development projects totaling around Rs 190.85 crore in the Deori Assembly constituency.
The projects, valued at Rs 122.02 crore for Bhoomi Poojan and Rs 68.83 crore for inauguration, span various sectors such as roads, education, healthcare, power supply, water resources, Panchayat and Rural Development, and Technical Education. These initiatives aim to bolster basic infrastructure and enhance public service accessibility in the Deori and Kesli development blocks. Launched in June 2023 by former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Ladli Behna Yojana has become a significant welfare scheme under the BJP government, focusing on women’s economic empowerment.
Initially offering Rs 1,000 per month, the scheme’s financial assistance was later raised to Rs 1,250 and further increased to Rs 1,500 from October 2025. Currently benefiting over 1.27 crore women in the state, the program plays a crucial role in the government’s social welfare agenda. The scheme also holds political and policy significance, with plans to gradually raise the monthly assistance to Rs 3,000, although a specific timeline for this increment is yet to be announced. The Kesli program anticipates the attendance of numerous women beneficiaries, public representatives, and residents from Sagar district and surrounding areas.
