In a significant move benefiting farmers, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh has transferred Rs 1,460.25 crore directly to the accounts of 10.54 lakh farmers in the state. This amount corresponds to crop insurance claims for the Kharif 2025 season under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. The transfer was swiftly executed with a single click following a Council of Ministers meeting held in Jagdishpur.

CM Yadav expressed the state government’s unwavering support for farmers in all circumstances. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s consistent concern for farmers’ welfare, emphasizing that the crop insurance scheme aims to offer financial aid in instances of crop loss due to natural disasters. Additionally, CM Yadav took to his social media handle to announce the successful transfer, extending congratulations to the beneficiary farmers.

Encouraging farmers to insure their crops before the deadline, the Chief Minister cautioned about the potential impact of the El Niño effect on monsoon rainfall this year. He stressed that timely insurance would ensure compensation for crop damages, reaffirming the government’s dedication to enhancing farmers’ well-being and protecting their livelihoods. Minister for Farmers’ Welfare and Agriculture Development Adal Singh Kanshana highlighted the substantial support provided through the scheme, with a total of Rs 30,942.34 crore disbursed to affected farmers in Madhya Pradesh between 2016–17 and 2024–25.

This recent fund transfer further underscores the government’s commitment to bolstering agricultural resilience. The initiative has garnered praise from farmer groups, who view it as a vital support system amid growing concerns over unpredictable weather conditions and crop losses. With more than ten lakh farmers benefiting from this latest payout, the scheme continues to serve as a crucial mechanism in stabilizing rural incomes and alleviating distress.
