In a significant move, the Madhya Pradesh Congress initiated a two-day cyclothon from Indore to Bhopal to bring attention to critical student issues. Led by Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari, the rally aims to highlight concerns such as irregularities in NEET-UG and CBSE exams, paper leaks, and rising youth unemployment. Patwari will personally cycle the entire route over two days to engage directly with young people and their families.
The cyclothon commenced at 8:00 a.m. from RNT Marg near Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya in Indore, emphasizing the challenges faced by students due to exam malpractices and administrative lapses. Organizers anticipate significant participation along the way, with around 500 cyclists from each district expected to join, forming a convoy of over 2,000 participants from Indore, Dewas, Sehore, and Bhopal.
A diverse group of permanent cyclists, including Congress members, cycling enthusiasts, and fitness club members, have been enlisted for the rally. The first leg of the journey will conclude in Ashta town of Sehore district, with participants staying overnight at Gokuldham Marriage Garden. The rally will resume on July 15 from Kothari for the next phase.
Jitu Patwari stressed the necessity for systemic reforms, advocating for quality education to be universally accessible at no cost. He called for mandatory and free education from kindergarten to post-graduation for all individuals. Describing the cyclothon as a non-political effort aligned with Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ campaign, Patwari aims to promote secure, high-quality education and transparency in academic and professional exams.
