The Madhya Pradesh Congress initiated the ‘Yuva Swabhiman Cyclothon’ campaign, criticizing the BJP-led state and Central governments for alleged failures in addressing youth issues. State Congress president Jitu Patwari, along with former ministers Jaivardhan Singh and Priyavrat Singh, highlighted concerns about examination scams, paper leaks, delayed recruitment, and increasing unemployment. The campaign aims to advocate for students and unemployed youth throughout the state, addressing issues affecting job aspirants.
Patwari expressed distress over recurring irregularities in competitive exams, impacting the confidence of numerous job seekers. Referring to incidents like the Vyapam scam and Patwari recruitment controversy, he labeled Madhya Pradesh as a hub of recruitment scams. He emphasized the plight of millions of students facing uncertainty due to paper leaks and recruitment irregularities, urging for prompt job placements for deserving candidates.
Accusing the government of negligence, Patwari pointed out that around 4.87 lakh government positions remained unfilled despite assurances of extensive hiring. He criticized the alleged manipulation of unemployment data and advocated for measures like an annual recruitment calendar, transparent examinations, and the establishment of special courts to expedite paper leak cases. Additionally, he called for the reinstatement of student union elections and the implementation of a Uniform Education Code for equitable educational opportunities.
Former minister Jaivardhan Singh raised concerns about the surge in irregularities in competitive exams following the establishment of the National Testing Agency (NTA). He blamed the BJP administration for allowing corruption to infiltrate the education sector through repeated paper leaks and exam scandals, leading to a loss of credibility in the system. Singh emphasized the detrimental impact on students and families, asserting that governments had failed to safeguard their future prospects.
Priyavrat Singh highlighted the significance of the ‘Yuva Swabhiman Cyclothon’ in amplifying the voices of students and unemployed youth across Madhya Pradesh. The campaign aims to address educational, recruitment, and employment issues, enhancing the Congress’s engagement with young voters and advocating for their concerns.
