The Madhya Pradesh Congress faced a setback as one of its senior leaders, Rakesh Yadav, resigned from his position. Yadav criticized Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari and state incharge Harish Chaudhary while supporting Chief Minister Mohan Yadav amidst the land allotment controversy. He cited a notice for participating in a TV debate as the reason for his resignation, expressing dissatisfaction with the party leadership.
Yadav, who served the Congress for over three decades, raised concerns about Patwari’s leadership abilities. He highlighted the party’s directive to refrain from TV debates during the ‘Maun Satyagraha’ and questioned the lack of evidence provided by the Congress regarding allegations against Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Yadav accused Patwari of being entangled in his own accusations related to land allotment issues.
Moreover, Yadav criticized Patwari and Chaudhary for the party’s defeat in the Rajya Sabha election involving Meenakshi Natarajan. He alleged financial impropriety in the appointment of district Congress presidents by Patwari. The BJP seized on Yadav’s resignation to criticize the Congress, pointing to internal dissatisfaction and a leadership crisis within the party amidst ongoing disputes with the BJP government.
