Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari has declared a protest across the state on May 16, highlighting alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). Patwari criticized the BJP for repeated paper leaks and exam scams nationwide during a press conference at the state Congress office in Bhopal. He accused the BJP-led Centre and state governments of neglecting the future of around 24 lakh students who took the test.
Describing the NEET controversy as crucial to the nation’s future, Patwari emphasized that ongoing irregularities in national-level exams have eroded trust among students and parents. He lamented that despite nearly 24 lakh students appearing for NEET, allegations of paper leaks and manipulation have shattered their efforts and dreams. Patwari pointed out a pattern of similar complaints in previous years, raising concerns about corruption and political interference in exam systems at both state and national levels.
Patwari highlighted the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh as a glaring example of systemic failure, citing frequent paper leaks and recruitment irregularities. He expressed dismay over the compromised future of youth due to such scams, where accountability often falls on lower-level officials while politically connected individuals escape scrutiny. The Congress leader vowed to organize protests throughout Madhya Pradesh to address these issues with students and the public, with plans for a detailed campaign on youth, employment, and education to be unveiled on May 16.
