Madhya Pradesh experienced unusual weather conditions in the last 24 hours, influenced by a persistent Western Disturbance affecting north Rajasthan and nearby Punjab-Haryana regions as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Bhopal center. Rainfall was recorded in isolated areas of Sagar division, Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Chambal, along with significant temperature fluctuations. Maximum temperatures dropped notably in Gwalior and Chambal districts, while some divisions saw temperatures above normal levels.

Statewide, Khandwa recorded the highest maximum temperature at 34.1°C, while Khajuraho had the lowest minimum temperature at 9.2°C. The region also witnessed gusty winds, thunderstorms, lightning, and hailstorms in various districts. IMD’s map analysis revealed distinct temperature anomalies across different parts of Madhya Pradesh, with forecasts indicating further rainfall in specific districts over the coming days.

Warnings have been issued for thunderstorms and lightning in certain areas, advising precautions to be taken during adverse weather conditions. Farmers have been urged to safeguard crops and prepare for upcoming summer sowing activities. The weather shift is attributed to a disturbance approaching the Himalayas, prompting residents to stay alert for safety measures.
