The Madhya Pradesh government has announced the creation of a State-Level Trade Welfare Board to bolster the state’s trade and industrial landscape. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the Ministry of Industrial Investment will supervise the board, with the Chief Minister serving as its chair. The Department of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), led by Minister Chetanya Kumar Kashyap, will play a crucial role, along with representatives from various departments associated with trade and commerce.
The board will also include prominent non-governmental organizations like FICCI and Laghu Udyog Bharati, in addition to government-nominated members focused on advising on trade growth, development, and employee welfare. District-level committees will be established to ensure that the board’s benefits reach local traders and small-scale industrialists. The primary objective of the board is to boost exports by educating traders on available schemes and fostering a conducive environment for trade expansion across districts.
One of the key responsibilities of the board will be to propose policies that streamline regulations, thereby improving the ease of doing business. This move aims to reduce bureaucratic obstacles and administrative challenges, empowering traders to operate more efficiently and confidently. By involving both government departments and reputable non-governmental organizations, the board is expected to offer diverse perspectives and practical solutions.
The inclusion of district-level committees highlights the state government’s commitment to ensuring that even grassroots traders benefit from these initiatives. With a focus on simplifying regulations, promoting exports, and enhancing employee welfare, the Trade Welfare Board represents a significant advancement in Madhya Pradesh’s industrial and commercial policy framework. Minister Kashyap anticipates that this initiative will create a more business-friendly environment, attract investments, and contribute to the state’s economic growth.
