In a move to assist state government employees, the Madhya Pradesh government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) from 252% to 257% for those under the 6th Pay Commission scale. This adjustment, effective from July 1, 2025, will be reflected in employees’ salaries starting April 1, 2026, with arrears for the period distributed in six installments from May to October 2026.
To ease financial burdens, if an employee retires or passes away during this period, any outstanding arrears will be paid in a lump sum to them or their family members. The DA calculation will round up amounts of 50 paise or more to the next rupee, while disregarding amounts below 50 paise.
Around one lakh government employees and officers under the 6th Pay Commission will benefit from this decision. The Finance Department has been instructed to promptly implement the order, extending revisions to eligible employees on deputation from various entities. This initiative is part of broader relief measures by the state government, following a recent 3% DA increase for employees under the 7th Pay Commission.
