The Madhya Pradesh government announced plans to implement the ‘AI Mission’ to enhance the administrative system and foster development within the state. The initiative will roll out in phases, focusing on strengthening foundational infrastructure in the current financial year 2026-27. Subsequently, successful AI use cases will be expanded across government departments in 2027-28, leading to the development of AI technology as a permanent institutional capability from 2028 onwards.
This strategic move aims to streamline service delivery and create more economic opportunities, as highlighted by the government. The state is dedicated to democratizing AI technology, ensuring accessibility and affordability for all segments of society. By leveraging AI, the government intends to offer faster, smarter, and personalized services to citizens, especially targeting farmers, rural communities, youth, and marginalized groups.
Furthermore, the AI system will play a crucial role in early risk detection across vital sectors like agriculture, health, nutrition, and disaster management. To boost administrative efficiency, officials will be equipped with AI-powered tools for tasks such as drafting, data analysis, decision support, and data management. The integration of AI will extend beyond pilot projects to become a core component of the state’s flagship schemes, enhancing real-time tracking in platforms like E-Seva and Sampada 2.0.
In addition, the government plans to establish a robust AI ecosystem by collaborating with startups, educational institutions, and industry players. Through AI skilling programs for both youth and government officials, the state aims to prepare its workforce for future technological demands. This initiative follows the Madhya Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference, jointly organized by the IndiaAI Mission and the state government earlier this year.
