Veteran BJP leader Uma Bharti praised the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s ruling that the Bhojshala complex in Dhar is a temple dedicated to Goddess Saraswati. The court also suggested that the Muslim community could seek land elsewhere in Dhar for a mosque. BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma hailed the decision as a victory for the Hindu faith and urged for historical Hindu sites to be restored.

The court determined that Bhojshala is a temple of Goddess Saraswati and directed the ASI to manage it. It overturned a previous order restricting Hindu worship at the site and denied Muslims the right to offer namaz there. The Muslim side plans to challenge the ruling in the Supreme Court, expressing disagreement with the judgment.

The legal battle over Bhojshala began in 2022, with the Hindu community seeking full rights to the site. Following a scientific survey by the ASI in 2024, the Supreme Court allowed uninterrupted worship in 2026. The High Court’s decision has sparked differing reactions, with further legal action expected from the Muslim community.
