The Madhya Pradesh Police have apprehended Chandan Badole, 32, who had been evading capture for 35 days after allegedly shooting his father in Barwani district. Badole was found in the forests near the Narmada River, attempting to flee by jumping from a temple roof. Despite eluding authorities by changing hideouts, he was caught with the help of an informant.
Following a heated argument over money, Chandan shot his father, Jagan Badole, during a scuffle on April 20 in Pichhodi village. The accused had demanded more than Rs 2 lakh from his father, who had already given him Rs 2 lakh by mortgaging land. Chandan’s mother witnessed the shooting and alerted the police.
Chandan, a former welder, had been pressuring his father for additional funds, leading to escalating tensions. After the crime, he sought refuge in the forests along the Narmada River, where police conducted extensive searches to locate him. The arrest of Chandan Badole has brought some relief to the family, though investigations continue to uncover any additional motives.
