Madhya Pradesh Police apprehended three individuals, including a woman and her suspected paramour, in connection with the killing of the woman’s spouse. The victim, identified as Raghunath alias Sarju Khewar, was discovered deceased near a national highway in Singrauli district. The suspects, the victim’s wife Ramkali, her alleged lover Neeraj Kumar Shah, and his accomplice Suraj Singh Gond, were taken into custody after a thorough investigation.
Investigations unveiled that the murder was allegedly orchestrated by Ramkali and Neeraj, who were romantically involved and aimed to eliminate Raghunath. SDOP Rahul Sanyam disclosed that the accused perceived the victim as an impediment to their relationship and meticulously planned and executed the crime. Raghunath, who had just returned from Gujarat, was targeted by the perpetrators upon his arrival in the village for a family event.
The assailants, Neeraj and Suraj, reportedly enticed Raghunath to a secluded spot under the guise of sharing drinks and then assaulted him with a stone, resulting in fatal head injuries. The victim’s body was subsequently concealed behind a boulder near the highway to cover up the heinous act. Police recovered incriminating materials linked to the crime based on information divulged during interrogation by the suspects. The trio has been presented before a local court, with investigations ongoing.
