In a significant move, the Home Department in Madhya Pradesh has implemented a major reshuffle of senior police officers across the state. The restructuring, announced through two detailed orders on January 29, aims to enhance the efficiency of law enforcement leadership. The changes impact senior officials as well as zonal-level officers, indicating a strategic redistribution of roles within the police hierarchy.

Pankaj Kumar Srivastava, a 1992 batch officer, will continue in his role as Special Director General of Police, CID, at Police Headquarters in Bhopal. He will also retain additional responsibilities in Vigilance, having previously overseen anti-Naxal operations, STF, vigilance, and CID.

Anand Kumar Singh, a 1994 batch officer, is returning from central deputation to take charge as Special Director General and Principal Director of Madhya Pradesh Police Housing Corporation in Bhopal. Meanwhile, KP Venkateshwar Rao, a 1995 batch officer, has been assigned to technical services and will also lead the STF at Police Headquarters, in addition to anti-Naxal operations.

Umesh Joga, a 1997 batch officer who previously served as ADG of Ujjain Zone, has been appointed as Additional Director General and Transport Commissioner in Gwalior. D Srinivas Verma, also from the 1997 batch, will now serve as ADG, Narcotics, with an additional responsibility in STF. Vivek Sharma, a 1998 batch officer, has been reassigned from Transport Commissioner to ADG, PTS Gwalior, after concluding his transport-related duties.

Rakesh Gupta, a 1999 batch officer, has transitioned from Director of Sports and Youth Welfare to ADG of Ujjain Zone. Abhay Singh, a 2002 batch officer, has moved from IG Bhopal Rural Zone to IG (Zonal) at Police Headquarters. Harinarayanachari Mishra, a 2003 batch officer, has shifted from Police Commissioner of Bhopal to IG (SCRB) at Police Headquarters.

Further changes include Sanjay Kumar and Sanjay Tiwari, both from the 2004 batch, who have been reassigned to different zones within the state. Chetna N, a 2006 batch officer, will now lead Shahdol Zone, while Lalit Shakyawar, a 2008 batch officer, takes over Balaghat Zone as IG. Additionally, Mohammad Shahid Akbar, a 1996 batch officer, has been relieved of his additional responsibilities at Madhya Pradesh Police Academy.
