The Madhya Pradesh police headquarters in Bhopal has implemented a significant reshuffle of IPS officers, redistributing key responsibilities among various divisions. The state Director General of Police, Kailash Makwana, issued an order on Tuesday, immediately assigning new roles to officers from the 2009 to 2016 batches.
Avdhesh Goswami of the 2009 batch, previously serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) at Police Headquarters, has now been appointed as DIG (Welfare/Accounts). Prashant Khare from the 2009 batch has taken charge as DIG (Crime Investigation Department), while Manish Agrawal, also from the same batch, has been assigned as DIG (Training).
Kiranlata Kerketta of the 2010 batch, who was previously DIG (Women’s Safety), will now serve as DIG (Complaints). Riaz Iqbal from the 2011 batch has been designated as DIG (Administration), and Rahul Kumar Lodha, also from the same batch, is now the DIG (Special Task Force).
Simala Prasad, another officer from the 2011 batch, has been appointed as DIG (Women’s Safety), and Shivdayal from the 2012 batch is now the DIG (Arms and Ammunition). Among the younger officers, Manish Khatri of the 2016 batch has been named Assistant Inspector General (Crime Investigation Department), and Ramsharan Prajapati, also from the 2016 batch, is the Assistant Inspector General (Selection and Recruitment).
This reshuffle aims to streamline operations and strengthen specialized divisions like training, welfare, women’s safety, administration, and recruitment within the police force. By placing experienced officers in these roles, the leadership seeks to enhance efficiency and accountability, ensuring effective policing and better coordination in Madhya Pradesh’s law enforcement.
