Maharashtra Agriculture Minister, Dattatray Bharane, publicly expressed his desire to see Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis take on a national leadership position. During a felicitation event by the BJP Kisan Morcha in Mumbai, Bharane hinted at broader horizons for Fadnavis, emphasizing the upcoming Ashadhi Ekadashi.
Bharane praised Fadnavis’ contributions but highlighted the need for Maharashtra to aim for national prominence. He mentioned the importance of good leaders staying in Maharashtra for the collective future while also looking beyond the state. Bharane expressed a wish for Fadnavis to lead the country at the right time, stating that Maharashtra currently remains somewhat distant from Delhi’s leadership.
At the event, which aimed to honor CM Fadnavis for announcing the Punyshrok Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme, Bharane urged grassroots workers to ensure that the policy’s benefits reach the farmers. He highlighted that the state’s latest loan waiver is expected to directly assist over 56 lakh farmers in Maharashtra, with an annual injection of around Rs 25,000 crore to support agricultural pump sets up to 7.5 horsepower.
Reflecting on the challenges faced due to crop damages from unseasonal rains and floods, Bharane credited Fadnavis and NCP leader Ajit Pawar for their swift response. He emphasized the importance of financial planning in governance and commended leaders like Fadnavis, Sunetra Pawar, and Eknath Shinde for supporting farmers in rebuilding their lives, urging alliance workers to promote the government’s welfare schemes ahead of the upcoming political season.
