The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has detained four youths from Ahilyanagar district for questioning regarding their suspected connections with Pakistani gangsters. This action is part of an ongoing crackdown by the ATS, with raids conducted at five locations across Maharashtra. The investigation focuses on the alleged contacts between the detained individuals and Pakistan-based gangsters Shahzad Bhatti and ‘Rana Bhai’.
Sources revealed that Sagar Beg, president of the Shri Ram Sangh in Ahmednagar district, had received death threats from Rana and Bhatti, leading security agencies to intensify their probe. The ATS uncovered evidence during the investigation indicating that the four detained youths had been in contact with the gangsters. Subsequently, the agency carried out coordinated raids and detained the suspects for further questioning.
All four individuals have been in ATS custody since Wednesday, with ongoing questioning to ascertain the extent of their involvement and the purpose of their communications with the gangsters. The ATS is analyzing digital records and communication trails obtained during the raids to determine whether the suspects were acting independently or as part of a larger network.
Authorities have not disclosed the identities of the detained individuals or made any formal arrests yet. The ATS stated that further actions will be based on the investigation’s findings. The agency continues to conduct raids and verification exercises at multiple locations as part of the broader probe, investigating all aspects of the case thoroughly.
