Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, during the World Economic Forum summit in Davos, met with various global investors and leaders to discuss investment opportunities and cooperation. Among those he interacted with were Sung Kim from Hyundai Motor Company, Ajay Banga from the World Bank Group, Hayashi Nobumitsu from JBIC, David Burt from Bermuda, and Carlsberg CEO Jacob Aarup-Andersen. Fadnavis discussed Hyundai’s investment plans, Maharashtra’s EV policies, and the potential for collaboration in sustainable transportation with Sung Kim.
Fadnavis emphasized the significance of the Indian market for Hyundai and their support for the Make in India initiative. He mentioned Hyundai’s plans to launch new EV models and their engagement in CSR activities. Fadnavis also highlighted Maharashtra’s position as a prime investment destination driving India’s growth.
Additionally, Fadnavis met with Hayashi Nobumitsu to strengthen the India-Japan partnership and discussed green initiatives in Maharashtra. He emphasized the potential for Japanese collaboration in urban transport transformation and green investments in the state. Fadnavis welcomed JBIC’s interest in sustainable city development and business opportunities.
During his meeting with Ajay Banga, Fadnavis focused on strategies for a green industrial corridor in Maharashtra and digitization of MSMEs to boost competitiveness and exports. He expressed confidence that their collaboration would support Maharashtra’s growth through impactful initiatives.
Fadnavis also engaged with David Burt from Bermuda, discussing inclusive growth and innovation. He underscored Maharashtra’s readiness for partnerships based on trust and transparency. Carlsberg CEO Jacob Aarup-Andersen appreciated Maharashtra’s business environment and expressed intentions for increased investments in the state.
