Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance’s success in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, terming it a significant win for development. Fadnavis, speaking at the state BJP headquarters, emphasized that the public’s overwhelming response to their campaign issues would drive their future focus on development. He dedicated the victory to uplifting the lives of the underprivileged and middle class through transformative development initiatives.
The celebration, attended by BJP state president Ravindra Chavan and Mumbai BJP president Ameet Satam, saw Fadnavis acknowledging the massive mandate received by the Mahayuti alliance. He urged the newly elected BJP corporators to uphold the trust placed in them by the people and to conduct themselves responsibly to maintain that trust. Fadnavis also paid tribute to Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray and credited the victory to the blessings of Thackeray and the enduring faith in Prime Minister Modi.
Highlighting the historic nature of the victory, Fadnavis declared it a “Grand Victory” (Mahavijay) that surpassed all previous records. He expressed confidence that the Mahayuti alliance would continue to dominate the BMC based on the current electoral trends. Fadnavis stressed that the results underscored the public’s desire for development and integrity, reaffirming Maharashtra’s unwavering support for PM Modi and the alliance.
Fadnavis reiterated the party’s commitment to Hindutva as the core of their ideology, emphasizing an inclusive vision of Hindutva that embraces India’s diverse cultural heritage. He commended the elected representatives for their integrity and reminded them of the public’s faith in the BJP and PM Modi. The Chief Minister also congratulated Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for the alliance’s victory, underscoring the party’s dedication to Maharashtra’s progress.
