Accompanied by his wife Amruta Fadnavis, the Chief Minister praised Team India for their victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The Mumbai Cricket Association shared the event on Instagram, calling it a proud moment for Indian cricket.
Dube also expressed his gratitude on Instagram after meeting the Chief Minister, describing it as a special and encouraging moment. Under the leadership of Captain Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian team showcased fearless and dynamic cricket in the tournament. Their performance included explosive batting, disciplined bowling, and exceptional fielding, demonstrating consistency and composure in crucial situations.
India’s victory in the T20 World Cup final against New Zealand by 96 runs marked a significant achievement, erasing the memories of their 2023 ODI World Cup loss. The Indian team’s powerful batting lineup posted a record 255/5, the highest total in a T20 World Cup final. In response, New Zealand struggled and managed only 159 runs in 19 overs. This win not only secured India’s title defense but also made them the first team to retain the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup trophy on home soil, creating a historic moment for cricket fans worldwide.
