Maharashtra Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis responded firmly to alleged intimidating statements made by rebel Shiv Sena(UBT) MP Sanjay Patil, who recently joined the Shinde faction. Fadnavis assured strict police vigilance, dismissing the panic caused by Patil’s bomb threat and murder claims.
In reaction to Shiv Sena(UBT) MP Sanjay Raut’s letter urging Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti to arrest Patil under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), CM Fadnavis emphasized that the police are fully prepared to handle any threats. He stated that no one should fear hollow threats, and the law enforcement machinery is on high alert to respond appropriately.
Fadnavis reiterated the commitment to take necessary legal actions against Patil and condemned the controversial rhetoric. Raut highlighted public backlash against the defected MPs, claiming that Patil’s alleged threats of violence warranted immediate investigation. The political tension has escalated in the Mumbai North East region, with clashes between workers of the Thackeray and Shinde factions intensifying the civil unrest.
