A delegation of five members from Maharashtra, led by the state’s Chief Electoral Officer S Chockalingam, is set to travel to Colombia as International Observers for the elections to the Congress of the Republic of Colombia from March 6 to 10. The delegation includes officials like Ashirwad Kumar, Manohar Ramchandra Parkar, Priyesh Lakhuchand Mahajan, and Sagar Ashok Shirke.
The Election Commission of India’s Global Engagement for Electoral Excellence initiative aims to share India’s electoral management practices globally. Maharashtra has been assigned Colombia for focused engagement under this initiative. The delegation will visit Colombia from March 6 to 10 to fulfill the objectives of this initiative.
Presidente, Consejo Nacional Electoral, Colombia, has invited the Maharashtra delegation to serve as International Observers for the Colombian Congress elections on March 8. The Indian International Institute of Democracy and Election Management has obtained necessary clearances for this visit from the Ministry of External Affairs and the Election Commission of India.
